The EU-Mercosur Interim Trade Agreement has been provisionally applied since 1 May 2026, opening new opportunities for trade, investment and business collaboration, and bilateral commerce and the movement of companies between Brazil and Ireland already move around €2.2 billion a year, with the agreement set to eliminate tariffs of 14-18% in sectors including pharmaceuticals and medical instruments.
Brazil is Latin America and the Caribbean's leading startup ecosystem with 19 unicorns, while in Ireland a Brazilian community of more than 80,000 is living, working, building businesses and putting down roots.
